Dr. Gavin Malcolm Spence is a Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon with 24 years’ experience. His practice has been solely concerned with Orthopaedic problems in children, having worked at both of the leading Pediatric hospitals in London which specialize in rare and complex cases. In 10 years as a consultant he has performed nearly 4000 procedures independently.
After his Clinical Fellowships in Pediatric Orthopedics, he worked as a Consultant Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon with special interest in Limb Reconstruction at Evelina London Children’s Hospital & Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, London.
In addition to clinical work, he has a particular interest in Teaching and served as a Surgical Tutor to Great Ormond Street Hospital. For many years he ran several popular educational courses for trainees, and in 2019 was voted “Trainer of the Year” by the British Orthopaedic Trainees’ Association. He spent two years at Cambridge University’s Orthopaedic Research Unit whilst studying for his MD research degree, and has contributed several important research papers concerned with basic science as well as clinical subjects.
