Burjeel Hospital embraces EARTH DAY , EVERYDAY
Burjeel Hospital for Advanced Surgery faculty are going green for Earth Week 2014 and continuing its recycling efforts in BHAS facility by kicking off the World Earth Day celebration on 22nd April 2014 with an array of greenery adornments and poignant messages on conserving Mother Nature. Spearheaded by the Operations Department and flanked by the patronage of our personnel, this year, offices were targeted to make an extra impetus at recycling for curbing the Hospital’s carbon footprint, while also spreading a message of environmental preservation, protection and recycling. Staffs at BHAS were all hands on deck to convey the message through a colorful exhibit of leafy messages around the facility showcasing the significance of adhering to the three R’s (Reduce, Recycle and Reuse) to foster the importance of conserving Mother Nature, distributing potted plants and reusable mugs to the staff. An Earth Day themed cake depicting the message was cut by our Director General, Dr. Samih Tarabichi, commemorating the event; while Dr. Shajir Gaffar – CEO, Dr. Marwan Hawari – Medical Director, Dr. Oussama Kayali – Operations Director and other faculties enthusiastically partook in the event by their contribution of green messages, ideas and themes –thus stressing the necessity of ensuring that earth Day is observed every day rather than curtailing it to a single day of celebration.
