Layla, a 16-year-old girl, was suffering from progressive back deformity over the past few years. Back pain and exertional shortness of breath worsened over the past 2 years that prevented her from sports activities and good night sleeping. She was diagnosed to have Idiopathic Scoliosis with high degrees of angulation. Corrective spine surgery with osteotomy and fusion was needed to prevent further deterioration of her condition and restore normal shape. She and her family did extensive searching and counseling and finally decided to do it in Burjeel Hospital by Dr. Firas Husban. She was able to stand up and walk next day of surgery. After 3 days post operation, she was able to do most of her daily activities independently.
